MANSFIELD — There might be some familiar faces on the big screen starting this weekend. “Chosen,” a film produced in Mansfield this past summer, is kicking off this weekend at Crossroads Community Church.
According to Mansfield native Kimberly Yeager Miller, JCFilms produced the new movie starring Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo and Eddie McClintock. The faith-based film discusses adoption and foster care and was filmed in Mansfield in June. MIller is working as an actress, instructor, image consultant and producer on the film.
Miller says numerous local residents appear in the film. Ohio-native McClintock attended the premiere and is in Mansfield through November 17th filming another JCFilms movie, entitled “Duplicate Divinity.“
Since 2013, JCFilms has produced over forty faith-based and family friendly moves. Its goal is to create family-friendly films while offering an opportunity for people of faith to get involved in Christian movie-making.
“Chosen” is based on true stories of adoption and foster parenting. According to the Director, “Chosen” is a blueprint for what churches and communities can do to help.
“We do not just want to make a film, we wanted to make a film that will change and benefit the lives of children,” says President of JCFilms Jason Campbell. “Realistically, not everyone can be a foster or adoptive parent. But everyone can give a helping hand. The film “Chosen” is a blueprint for what churches and communities can do to help.”
Campbell says beyond making an entertaining film, his goal is to leave a lasting effect on the lives of those involved in adoption and foster parenting in Ohio. To do this, JCFilms is creating a non-profit organization called Ohio Helping Hands.
Ohio Helping Hands provides parents and children in foster care or adoption situations with programs that promote safety, permanency, and community.
The theme of the multi-plot movie is about empowering people to get involved. On any given day in Ohio, nearly 16,000 children are being cared for in foster care. This number is expected to increase as the number of foster parents are decreasing.
Governor Mike DeWine has stated there is a foster-care “crisis” in Ohio. According to DeWine, “There are currently about 16,000 foster children in Ohio, up from 12,000 in 2013 – an increase that’s due in large part to opioid-addicted parents.”
“Chosen” highlights the beauty of adoption and foster parenting, but also shows challenges many adoptive and foster parents endure. It is a depiction on how communities and people of faith come together to help and support these many challenges.
Another movie will be filmed this week in Mansfield entitled “Duplicate Divinity.” This faith-based motion picture will be about two twin brothers that find meaning in life when one brother steals the right to become a pastor of a small community church. This modern-day story of Jacob and Esau is a humorous look into church culture and politics.

The Bible says in James Chapter1, “Religion that is pure and undefiled beforeGOD the Father is this: to visit orphansand widows in theiraffliction, and to keeponeself unstained from the world.”
SAVANNAH — Last month before elections, one local church hosted a “Missions Sunday” church service to support social conservatives running for office. With election results now in, it is clear evangelicals voted with their feet. With Bible-believers gaining victories in key local races, it is apparent at least one congregation had something to do with the outcome.
While Bethel Chapel may be located in a rural area of the Buckeye Bible Belt, there is no denying this church is ‘wired in’ and connected to its community.
“Just like we do for any other missionary from a foreign country, we gave a love offering to the families of GOD-fearing persons who are serving as missionaries to our local government,” says Pastor John Bouquet of Bethel Chapel. “We want to reach America. People are tired of complaining about the state of our governmental affairs. Our congregation has decided to be responsible and do something about it.
“Because we have a service dedicated to these civic missionaries, I have been able to form friendships with those who hold office. This is a seed sown over thirty-nine years in the same community, I have made a lot of friends over the years, and some enemies, but it is a seed that produces good fruit.”
Often critics believe the Great Commission only pertains to evangelism of the lost and not to civic government.
“Tell me, what part of society are we not supposed to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to? Right now, everybody is talking about COVID and government and as a whole, the Church does not want to do anything about either one. Our Biblical mandate is to be salt and light to a dying world, but contemporary Christendom does not even like the word ‘mandate.’ A more provocative question is, ‘Do we believe civic government is redeemable?’ The resounding answer should be, ‘Yes!’ And in a country where citizens have the ability to impact our society for Christ, it is crystal clear loving your neighbor includes civic government.”
As a result of the civic government missions mindset, Bouquet says other congregants have been inspired and are considering running for office. Several of the candidates who attended the church service ran for the first time and won.
Newcomers John Teevan for Ashland City School Board, Jason Chio for Ashland City Council Second Ward, and Reverend El Akuchie for Mansfield City Council Third Ward all ran for the first time and won. Financial offerings were taken up for Chio who was not present at the service.
Bethel Chapel’s civic engagement is catching on with other area churches. One nearby clergyman who has served as lead pastor for twelve years decided to run for the first time to fill a seat on the local school board; he won.
“Our ministry is a growing community-minded ministry,” says Pastor John Temple of Trinity Community Church in Loudonville. “We strive to serve the community in various ways. After participating in the Adopt-a Grade program for three years, I decided to run for school board.”
View the slideshow of October 3rd Sunday Missions Service for CivicGovernment at Bethel Chapel below.
Reverend John Temple’s church partners with other area churches to provide a summer vacation Bible School. Just recently his church became the host location for a new LifeWise Academy released time Bible program providing Bible instruction for public school students during school hours. Their efforts are reaching the next generation.
Time will tell what the future holds for the community. Pastor Bouquet points out, “After this election, our faith community was able to put Christians on three different school boards: Crestview, Ashland City, and Loudonville-Perrysville schools. We reshaped the Ashland City School Board by electing three social conservatives for the majority. We also elected three Bible-believers for Ashland City Council giving control of all five council seats to people who fear GOD.”
According to Bouquet, he is not interested in raising up politicians, he is interested in raising leaders.
Bouquet says this is how to get to Washington D.C. “You get to D.C. thru the local level one person at a time. The school board member becomes a councilman, a county commissioner, than a state representative. Before you know it the evangelical believer is running for Congress. It is long term plan that requires planting a seed of faith.”

COLUMBUS — Ohio has a rich history in combatting racism and was one of the key states in the Underground Railroad movement.
Last summer in a knee-jerk reaction, the Ohio State Board of Education passed a resolution stating there are systemic inequalities in the state among students of different racial backgrounds. But with the absence of the violent uprisings in 2020, it seems cooler heads have prevailed.
National social unrest instigated by Black Lives Matter led to billions of dollars of damage to urban neighborhoods and businesses. During the insurrection, the Ohio State Board of Education (OSBOE) passed Resolution 20 which included action steps to examine standards and model curriculum for bias and ensure racism and the struggle for equality are adequately taught.
While the resolution was supposed to promote conversations about racism, it turned out to be a power grab. Biased OSBOE meetings stamped out speech expressing opposition to the policy and an unequal playing field resulted. But in a recent development, in a 10-7 vote, the OSBOE courageously repealed the divisive Resolution 20.
While Resolution 20 indicted Ohio for systemic racism, the facts reveal the opposite. Slavery was never legalized in Ohio, it was abolished by the Northwest Territory before Ohio became a state. Segregation was never legal in Ohio. Discriminatory housing and lending patterns have been illegal for over fifty years and were never part of the Revised or Administrative Codes.
After the repeal vote, both Board President Laura Kohler and Member Eric Poklar who supported Resolution 20 resigned. Kohler resigned after admitting the Ohio Senate had enough votes to remove her. Richard J. Chernesky of Warren County and Brandon Kern of Fairfield County will be filling their vacated positions.
The embattled Kohler is no stranger to controversy. A lawsuit in 2021 was taken out against Kohler and four board members including Member Christina Collins for limiting public input on issues regarding racism.
Kohler publicly admitted, “As President, I made the decision in the late fall of 2020 to limit public comment on two issues, the Board’s Resolution to Condemn Racism and to Advance Equality and Opportunity for Black Students, Indigenous Students and Students of Color, and the 1619 Project to written testimony only.
Ironically, the contested resolution contained a section stating “the board will look for ways to engage our members in open and courageous conversations on racism and inequity.”
State Board Member Christiana Collins of District 5 representing Richland, Ashland and Wayne counties was in the minority supporting the divisive systemic racism resolution during the repeal vote.
Christina Collins was included in the lawsuit for her “explicit support, encouragement and ratification” of the policy to prohibit discussion on racial topics. Collins prohibited discussion saying “testimonies and comments would be “bringing in theories or words that are being misconstrued or supporting misconceptions.”
In a legal opinion last month to the State Board of Education, Attorney General David Yost stated that the teaching of “critical race theory in K-12 schools would be unconstitutional. He said the State Board of Education exceeded its authority by requiring state education contractors to take implicit bias training.
The departures of both Kohler and Poklar also come at a time of increased interest in local school board races. The Ohio School Boards Association reports 2,628 candidates are running for school boards this year. And that’s more than a 50% increase from the number of candidates running for school boards four years ago.

The Bible says in Proverbs 15, “A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but the slow to anger calms a dispute.”
BERLIN — A Haitian gang has kidnapped seventeen missionaries helping to build an orphanage. The group named the “400 Mawozo Gang,” is known for its brazen killings, ransom kidnappings, and extortion of businessmen. The kidnapped missionaries include six men, six women and five children. Sources say the group has demanded $1 million for each hostage for their safe return.
Last week in response, a press conference was held by the Ohio-based ministry Christian Aid Ministries (CAM) seeking divine help.
Ministry Public Relations Manager Weston Showalter said the Christian Aid Ministries greatly appreciates the prayers of believers around the world, including their many Amish and Mennonite supporters. The ministry is specifically calling people to pray that those being held hostage will “find strength to demonstrate God’s love.” The organization even called for prayers for the kidnappers.
“Thank you for your prayers on behalf of our family members who are being held hostage in Haiti,” Showalter said. “God has given our loved ones the unique opportunity to live out our Lord’s command to: ‘Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you.’ God invites us to call upon his name in the day of trouble. We thank him that He is God and we ask Him to hear our prayers and bring our families home.”
According to CAM, “The kidnappers, like all people, are created in the image of God and can be changed if they turn to Him,” the ministry stated in the prepared statement. “While we desire the safe release of our workers, we also desire the kidnappers be transformed by the love of Jesus, the only true source of peace, joy, and forgiveness.”
Often Haitian gangs know their demands cannot be met, so they consider counteroffering with the families. Negotiations can take a couple of days sometimes, or a couple of weeks.
Haiti is considered to be one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. The earthquake of 2010 destroyed much of its capital city Port-au-Prince, and left death and devastation in its path. Recently severe political upheaval shook the nation. The assassination of President Jovenel Moise on July 7th has brought tension to the nation. Last but not least, several days after an August earthquake, a tropical storm dumped heavy rains on part of the island country.
Recent media attention has focused on the kidnapping of the workers and their loved ones. A civil society group reports that six hundred kidnappings in Haiti were recorded between January to September 2021, compared to only two hundred thirty-one over the same period last year.
CAM is often asked, why would they send their workers to Haiti? Why travel to dangerous places? Why not let these countries take care of their own issues?
According to the ministry, the answer is quite clear.
“We live in a very broken world. A world of broken relationships, broken trust, and broken political systems. It is a world of loneliness, fear, and violence. And Jesus came, not just so men could go to heaven when they die, but also to show the kind of a world God intends right here on earth.
“GOD desires a world where the hungry are fed, abandoned orphans are cared for, and where lonely refugees are provided for. Jesus came to redeem this broken world, and has called His church to work with Him. We go to places like Haiti because we have found Jesus and His teachings to be the answer for our own lives and we want others to enjoy the joy, peace, and redemption we have experienced in the kingdom of God.”

BELLVILLE — Whether its unvetted Afghan refugees coming to Akron or undocumented illegals overrunning the southern border, one candidate seeking elected office is not sitting on the fence when he says the federal and state governments have let the citizens down.
“When people see government bureaucrats betray the country, many feel helpless,” says Pete Markovic. “But for me, it provokes me to want to serve in the local government because I can do something about that. I am not a part of the elite political class, and I think leaders who are, mistakenly forget they are supposed to serve the citizens.”
“It is important to be informed as a private citizen and to be aware about what is going on in local government. By helping lead a transparent local government, I want to encourage people to be engaged. If we do not stay engaged, we will lose the values of our Clear Fork Valley and maybe lose our country.”
Markovic is running in a race with five other candidates vying for two township trustee positions. The four-year term begins January 1, 2022 and expires December 31, 2026. The three-person Jefferson Township Trustee Board oversees the the Fire Department/ Emergency Medical Services, the road crew, and the township finances. This is the first time Markovic has run for office.
A chiropractor since 1988, Markovic has gone on foreign mission trips to several nations with local churches. He promises to serve the Clear Fork Valley and not be beholden to Silicon Valley.
“I am a firm believer that your home is your castle and that the Second Amendment protects the First Amendment. My wife and children love this community. Jefferson Township is a safe place to be and great place to raise a family. We have a duty to both GOD and country, and if elected as township trustee, I will not be politically correct.”
Markovic points out the Biden Administration is allowing Afghan refugees to pour into the country and relocating them in communities under the cover of night.
“These refugees have no health screening and they bring their values that undermine our Judeo-Christian culture. On one hand the Deep State claims our country is going thru a pandemic. On the other hand, they are bringing persons across the border with measles and other communicable diseases.”
Markovic’s parents were first generation immigrants who came from Communist Yugoslavia.
“My dad left New Jersey and got a job in Cleveland when I was in sixth grade. My parents used the “front door” to get into America, back when the government had safeguards in place and protected its citizens. Our country is facing its biggest crisis yet. I love this country and will fight for its values.”
Election Day is Tuesday, November 2nd with absentee voting underway. People can vote at the Board of Elections on 1495 West Longview Avenue in Mansfield, or at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 48 Church Street in Bellville.
The Bottom Line:
The Bible saysin Exodus 18, “Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear GOD, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens”
When the phone rang, it was every father’s worst nightmare. Come to campus, a school official said, your daughter has been assaulted. No one told Scott Smith that she had been sexually assaulted by a boy wearing a skirt who had walked into the girls’ restroom and raped his 15-year-old child. Then, imagine your anger as a parent to find out that the school wasn’t going to involve the police; they decided to handle the matter “internally.”
For Scott Smith, it was unimaginable. Standing in the Stone Bridge High School office, blind with rage, he demanded they call the police. They finally did on him. “I went nuts,” he remembers. “…Six cop cars showed up like a… SWAT team.” Later that night, after a hospital rape kit confirmed what his daughter had insisted all along, the school’s principal sent out an email explaining the incident with Scott never mentioning what had happened to his daughter and where. Even when the attacker was formally charged, administrators kept quiet.
A month later, at a local school board meeting, Smith — like a lot of parents sat in shock as the new superintendent responded to the fury over Loudoun County’s radical transgender policies by insisting that nothing harmful had ever come of them. “To my knowledge,” Scott Ziegler said, “We don’t have any record of assaults occurring in our restrooms. It’s important to keep our perspective on this,” he went on. “We’ve heard it several times tonight from our public speakers, but the predator transgender student or person simply does not exist.” Smith was irate and tried to debate the point but was hauled out of the meeting by officers and charged with disorderly conduct. “I don’t care if he’s homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, transsexual. He’s a sexual predator,” he argued.
Afterward, Smith and his family tried to stay out of the public eye. That proved impossible last week when another bombshell dropped. Not only did the “predator transgender student” exist, he went on to attack again — this time at another school. Two and a half miles from the place where his daughter had been violated, a different girl was brutally victimized. “If someone would have sat and listened for 30 seconds to what Scott had to say,” the family attorney said, it could have been prevented. Instead, Loudoun County, whose extreme policies made the abuse possible, tried to cover up the rape — leaving thousands of daughters vulnerable to boys just like this one.
Scott Smith says it’s the most helpless he’s ever felt. “It has been so hard to keep my mouth shut and wait this out. It has been the most powerless thing I’ve ever been through,” he admitted. Other parents, aghast at the district’s negligence, have turned out in mass to blast the county leadership. “I’d rather save one girl from sexual assault than be politically correct,” one woman insisted.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration — sensing the national uprising is only growing — has decided to try to drive parents like Scott underground. Desperate to contain the uproar in local districts, the Department of Justice (DOJ) (egged on or in concert with the National School Board Association NSBA) is threatening to treat outspoken citizens like “domestic terrorists,” citing the arrest of Scott Smith for speaking out against the assault of his daughter as an example in their six page letter.
Outraged, sixty members of Congress pushed back, demanding an explanation from Attorney General Merrick Garland for how it could possibly be legal to treat concerned parents as criminals for exercising their constitutional rights. “While some of these meetings may get heated, most of the parents who have been attending these meetings have simply voiced their passions and concerns for their children and their futures,” they wrote. “While we agree with you that any threat of violence against these government officials should be condemned and investigated, no government official has the right to claim that a citizen may not speak out against government policies.” And yet, the NSBA in a letter to Garland, claims opposing the president’s wildly dangerous transgender agenda is tantamount to a public “hate crime.”
Politically diverse states like Louisiana and Virginia were horrified and publicly denounced the organization for “discouraging active participation in the governance process.” Separately, both chapters said they weren’t consulted about the letter to the DOJ and went out of their way to say the NSBA did not speak for them. Others have told news outlets that they’re even reconsidering their alignment with the national association. The debates taking place may be challenging, they agree, but they’re also necessary.
On what authority, Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-Mont.) asked, is the federal government even intervening in the first place? They don’t have supervision over local school boards and yet, the “DOJ is going into the local school districts to basically intimidate parents from getting involved in what their children are going to be taught? It’s very disturbing and troubling to me.” As it is to all parents, who are starting to see Washington’s heavy-handed education policy infused in their districts from the top down. When did it become the FBI’s job to investigate parents for speaking up at local board meetings, they want to know? It didn’t. This is just a desperate move by the Left to intimidate parents into silence so they can continue the indoctrination of children.
“From where I sit,” Rosendale said on Monday’s “Washington Watch,” “what this looks like is just another tactic of the Biden administration to completely silence those who might question what they’re trying to do. And I don’t think that there is a more important obligation for parents than to make sure that they are involved in how their children are being educated and what they’re being taught.”
So what can people do? Well, for starters, you can get your local school board on the record about whether they agree with the NSBA’s claims. (FRC Action even has a sample letter you can use.) Then, ask whether your state or community is a member of the NSBA. Is your district paying dues to the NSBA? Because if you are, you’re facilitating this type of attack on parents.
Maybe you don’t have children in the public schools, so you think this call to action doesn’t apply to you. But let’s face it: every one of us is a taxpayer, and organizations as radical as the NSBA shouldn’t have the ability to fight parents using our own dollars. Beyond that, this is an opportunity to hold the people we elected to represent us accountable. These school boards don’t just serve the families who have kids in school, they serve the entire community. So every one of us can and should show up to these meetings and demand the truth about what’s happening behind classroom doors.
Because, as Scott Smith will tell you, it might not spare his daughter -but it could spare someone else’s.

NORTH CENTRAL OHIO — Joe Biden’s executive orders mandating shots are not popular with the American public. With resistance to the experimental COVID-19 vaccination going viral across the country, a group of Ohio clergy are taking a jab at the White House’s mandate.
Leading clergy representing over one hundred congregations across the Buckeye Bible Belt are giving their disapproval of the national vaccine mandate and have written the President in an open letter.
“Joe Biden can take his medical advice somewhere else, we are not going to listen to him,” says Pastor J.C. Church, one of the one hundred and one clergy co-signors. “This President and his godless Administration have foot-in-mouth disease for every issue they touch. Since he does not have the scientific data nor the trust of the people, he uses fear to try to get compliance. Authoritarians in Marxist governments use this method.”
Pastor Church points out that as health care workers and military servicemen are losing their jobs for not taking the shot, illegal immigrants with no health screening are pouring across the U.S. border and are exempt from the Biden vaccine mandate. “Because of this derelict policy, it is not surprising there has been a three-fold increase in COVID cases this year with the vaccine compared to last year when there was no vaccine. Judging by his incompetent policies, this President hates our country and has no interest in ending this pandemic.”
In their letter, the clergy stated “To combat a virus with an overall 99.74% survival rate, the federal government should not impose its will on persons by mandating COVID-19 experimental vaccines and removing other alternative treatments. The people should have the ability to make their own health decisions,” the open letter said.
According to another clergy co-signor, forcing people to take the unproven COVID-19 experimental vaccine is immoral.
“Testing an experimental vaccine normally takes ten years to properly evaluate its performance,” says Pastor Jerry O’Brien. “It is immoral for persons to be forced within a matter of months to take an unproven COVID-19 experimental vaccination associated with nearly fifteen thousand deaths, 1.5 million reports of adverse events, and at least one hundred thousand breakthrough COVID infections in vaccinated persons. While the Bible calls every human being precious, the Biden Administration is treating its citizens like human guinea pigs.”
Ironically, the same day President Biden gave his mandate saying “this is not about freedom or personal choice,” Vice President Kamala Harris criticized a new Texas law banning abortion. She told abortion providers gathered at the White House that government should not interfere with personal health decisions.
In response, the clergy commented, “Mr. President, your Administration believes the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness do not come from our Creator GOD but rather from a federal government which does not know its right hand from its left. Your Administration’s politicization of the truth is profound.”
Truth be told, the clergy believe that studies out of the Cleveland Clinic and Israel indicate natural immunity found in the human body can be more effective than the COVID-19 vaccinations.
“GOD-given natural immunity found in the human body is stronger than experimental shots that have not been properly clinically-tested,” says Pastor John Bouquet. “If the federal government really cared about its citizens, other time-proven methods of treatment would not be blacklisted by the Federal Drug Administration. With this micromanagement of medicine by the Biden Administration, they may take chicken soup off shelves next to prevent us from treating the common cold.”
Meanwhile, vaccine makers are getting the silver spoon treatment. Vaccine makers have full legal immunity from lawsuits while the natural immunity of Americans who have already had the virus are ignored.
Pastor Bouquet declares “As this country is taking a turn for the worst, we are telling federal bureaucrats: We do not need your help, the LORD is our Balm of Gilead, He will be our physician, and their will be healing for His people.”
The Ohio clergy closed their letter by saying, “This unilateral and divisive order is unethical and tantamount to what a totalitarian king would dictate. Furthermore Mr. President, with respect to your vaccine mandate, we respond by saying ‘We have no king but King Jesus.’

BUCYRUS — Imagine a vaccine so safe that you have to be threatened and coerced to take it, for a disease so deadly that you have to be tested to know that you have it. One Bucyrus pastor has questions on what the reality of the COVID pandemic truly is.
While he has had friends and families adversely affected by the virus, Reverend J. C. Church wonders aloud what happened to herd immunity and is skeptical that policymakers in Washington D.C. have the best interests of its people at heart.
“On January 11, 2017 Dr. Anthony Fauci publicly said there is ‘no doubt Donald Trump will face a surprise infectious disease outbreak.’ Right now if we ask questions that do not fit the ‘narrative,’ you are censored for it; this is the reality we live in today. But I am curious what was known. How did he (Fauci) know this? What would make him say that?”
Pastor Church said that based on a lack of consumer confidence, he believes Dr. Fauci should resign.
“When you as a leader have less than fifty percent of the population say they trust you,…if you cared about that institution, the humble and honorable thing to do is to stand before the people and say it is my time to resign and step aside. Because when you do not have trust in a relationship you have nothing. Failure to do so for the integrity of the institution means you are either operating in pride or have an ulterior motive.”
Church says the reality is, the government during this pandemic is treating people who do not get the experimental COVID vaccine the same same way oppressive regimes began their campaigns against people groups prior to genocide. He listed ten steps that genocide has historically been comprised of.
The pastor also discussed responsibility, stewardship, and getting out of debt as action steps for believers to take. He also remarked on Joe Biden’s national vaccine mandate.
“Our response to the President is: ‘no’ to your mandates-mandates are not laws. Whether you read your teleprompter wrong I do not know. But to have the audacity and the ignorance to publicly say that it is not about our freedom and our personal choice, I have a news flash for you, it is about our freedom and personal choice.
Two weeks prior to COVID address, Pastor Church was a scheduled speaker at a Dayton, Ohio rally with Attorney Jenna Ellis and U.S. Senate Candidate Josh Mandel. According to Church, the day of the rally was the same day Ellis learned she successfully defeated the State of California for its unconstitutional mandates prohibiting church services. Ellis defended Pastor John MacArthur who was awarded $800,000 from the lawsuit.
“If you lose your job because of the vaccine mandate, GOD will take care of you,” says Church. “So if you have to take a stand, start getting prepared now. We (his church) prepared for this day, Our response is we will join the ranks of those who will be civilly disobedient over any mandate that attempts to override the authority of the Word of GOD one hundred percent of the time. We will not comply, not now, not ever. We need to get people to stand against this for freedom’s sake.”

MANSFIELD — Whether opposing illicit drugs or advocating for a dry dam to mitigate flooding, one councilman has demonstrated to Mansfield’s north side the axiom: “good fences make good neighbors.” With November 2nd ‘s Election Day just around the corner, clergymen are giving an “upper hand” to Jason Lawrence’s re-election efforts.
Forty-six area clergy released an open letter endorsing Jason Lawrence’ s campaign to continue as the Fifth Ward City Councilman. According to the pastors, Lawrence’s record demonstrates he is a strong proponent of faith, family, and freedom. Items listed in the letter included: support of faith-based initiatives, resistance to divisive social justice, support for the prohibition of illicit drugs, support of local law enforcement, and record of support for local prayer initiatives.
In their letter the clergy wrote, “Based on a Biblical worldview, our strong conviction as forty-six (46) clergymen is that Councilman Jason Lawrence will best serve as Fifth Ward Councilman in his second full term for the City of Mansfield in the upcoming November 2nd, 2021 General Election.”
Lawrence has respect from his peers on both sides of the aisle in City Council. Lawrence successfully lobbied for the Touby Run flood mitigation project that could free up to 106 acres from the flood plain on the north side of Mansfield. In addition, City Council followed Lawrence’s lead to prohibit the sale of marijuana within city limits and also voted down a divisive social justice resolution during a national calamity involving billions of dollars of property damage. Most of the destruction occurred predominantly in urban neighborhoods.
At the time, Councilman Lawrence said “I support our police and fire departments and we want safe neighborhoods with families. My ward would be especially vulnerable if we were to lose our safety forces. After three months, we have seen the destruction to homes and businesses from a movement that no longer wants an honest conversation. I am not sure how toppling monuments of abolitionists and burning Bibles changes anything.”
“There is more that unites us than divides us” says Lawrence. “My passion is that Mansfield would be a safe place for children to grow up in and a great place to grow old in.”
One of the clergy standing behind Councilman Lawrence’s campaign, Pastor Floyd Allen, commented “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
Another pastor that recently moved to the area commented about Lawrence’s family values.
“I first met Jason Lawrence at a neighborhood watch meeting and was impressed with his honesty and sincerity,” says Pastor Clint Zeigler. “Most striking to me was when he shared how his parents raised him. Today our culture needs virtue. Sadly it is rare to find this in leadership, and in society at large.
“When electing leaders to guide the direction of our community, our future, and our prosperity, the most important characteristic a candidate should have is trustworthiness. I believe Jason Lawrence is trustworthy. I am convinced Jason will not compromise his Biblical values and that he will serve his constituents for their gain and not his own self-gain.”
As a husband and father of four, Councilman Lawrence believes strong families are foundational for a vibrant community. He regularly leads city council meetings with an opening prayer invocation.
Councilman Jason Lawrence is running against Aurelio Diaz (D) in the general election.

MANSFIELD — In a divided country, more and more important decisions are being made at the local level that have far-reaching consequences. Election Day on Tuesday, November 2nd is not far away. One area pastor is throwing his hat in the ring and local clergy are giving their seal of approval.
In a clergy letter sent to Frontlines Ohio, fifty leading clergymen announced their support of Reverend El Akuchie in his bid to become Mansfield’s next Third Ward City Councilman. The clergy based their endorsement on Akuchie’s public record as a clergymen supporting issues of faith, family, and freedom.
The clergy wrote in their open letter, “Based on a Biblical worldview, our strong conviction as fifty (50) clergymen is that Reverend El Akuchie will best serve as Third Ward Councilman for the City of Mansfield in the upcoming November 2nd, 2021 General Election.”
The pastors listed several criteria on why they support Akuchie’s candidacy: his support for the sanctity of life, his advocacy of biological gender and traditional marriage, his resistance to human trafficking, his advocacy of religious freedom, his support of local law enforcement, his resistance to divisive social justice, and his support for the prohibition of illicit drugs.
One of the endorsing clergymen, Pastor J.C. Church, of Bucyrus said in a statement, “I have spoken to thousands of pastors across this nation and have never seen a pastor that loved his city and achieved more at the local level than Reverend El Akuchie. His character and integrity make him a trusted bridge builder during the most divided time in our nation’s history. Make no mistake, as City Councilman of the Third Ward, Reverend El will fight for Mansfield and he will champion the cause of freedom.”
Reverend El’s record speaks for itself regarding safe neighborhoods and supporting local law enforcement.
This past summer Reverend El partnered with eighty-eight other clergymen to hold a press conference at the Mansfield Police Compound honoring local law enforcement. The congregations donated $5,000 in funds to support local police. In another press conference in 2019, Reverend El and one hundred area clergy held a “Thank a Police Officer Day,” arranging with several local restaurants to provide free meals to those in uniform.
Besides opposing federal judicial tyranny and advocating for the life of babies diagnosed with Down Syndrome, Reverend El’s campaign has helped raise charitable funds for Richland Pregnancy Services, a local pregnancy crisis center.
“Some people remove their Bibles from their desk when they go to work. I promise you, if elected to City Council, I will bring my Bible to work,” says Akuchie. “Ultimately my campaign is about fighting for the well-being and future of our next generation.”
Reverend El Akuchie is running against Councilman Jon Van Harlingen (D) in the general election.

MANSFIELD — The Satanic Temple is holding Texas’ religious freedom protections hostage, claiming the Lone Star State’s new abortion ban is restricting its ‘religious freedom.’ As liberal media outlets are pinning their hopes on the Satanists’ efforts, one Ohio pastor says the partnership demonstrates how hellbent liberals are to murder babies.
“To practice ‘abortion rituals’ as a religious rite of worship gives us insight of the degree of their (Satanists) depravity,” says Pastor Clint Zeigler. “And when abortionists place their hope on this Satanic cult, the curtain really has been pulled: the Liberal Left has enlisted themselves into the army of the Devil.”
Headquartered in Salem, Massachusetts and founded in 2012, The Satanic Temple (TST) describes abortion as a “spiritual experience,” and argues Texas’ new six-week abortion ban imposes an “undue burden” on its Texas members who conduct the ritual. TST is seeking an exemption from the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act. If the state declines to provide the exemption, TST says it will seek judicial relief from the law.
Liberal media outlets find humor Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a champion for religious liberty, may have paved a way for Satanists to preserve abortion.
Left-wing media outlets are gleeful in their support of The Satanic Temple’s fight to keep abortion legal. “Satanic Temple Floats Devilishly Clever Strategy To Dodge Texas Abortion Law,” stated a headline from Huffington Post. “Why Satanists may be the last hope to take down Texas’s abortion bill,” echoedFortune.
Pastor Zeigler believes Satanism should not be defined as a religion and that the devil can be found in the details.
“The truth is being twisted. In our society today, evil has become good, good has become evil, and darkness is called light. It makes sense when the Liberal Left and Satanists are working together. As the Scriptures testify of those who have been taken captive by the devil to do his will, they think they are free when actually they are bound.
“Have they forgotten the right to live belongs to the unborn?” asks Zeigler. “Have they not read the many testimonies of women who deeply regret their decision to abort their baby and now suffer from depression and guilt?”
The Mansfield Pastor is hopeful abortion supporters who are realizing they are actually playing the devil’s advocate will come to their senses.
“Perhaps now after locking arms with followers of the evil one, their eyes will be opened to see the truth. Especially those professing the Name of Jesus Christ, the One who truly is the way, the truth, and the life. Just maybe this is what some need, to share a foxhole with enemies of God, and to realize how much they have been deceived.
“Jesus said that you would know them by their fruit. To give support to the unjust slaying of the innocent gives ample evidence of a darkened, depraved heart.”

CHESTERLAND — Breathing freely does not seem like something students should have to ask permission for, but that is the case in many school districts across the state. Strong emotions erupted over a mask mandate in West Geauga Local Schools. Over one hundred in attendance filled the gymnasium to address the Board of Education directly regarding the impact of a mask mandate on their kids.
Most in the audience were against the mask mandate. Parents told the school board that they were very capable of making decisions about their own children’s health.
One father told the school board, “I get to choose what is appropriate for my child. You have taken my parental duty away from me. I do not consent.”
Multiple parents cited issues with the facial coverings for young children, from some kids having difficulty breathing, to cleanliness and contamination challenges.
This summer, forty-seven studies were published confirming the futility of masks in preventing COVID infection and transmission. A second list of thirty-two studies were published confirming the negative health effects caused by frequent mask wearing for young children. Dangerous health and emotional effects on young children has been a growing concern for those who are at almost zero risk of COVID harm.
Christina Sherwood was angry parents were left out of the decision-making process. “Parents are angry that there was no survey of parents on their thoughts about requiring masks during in person learning.”
The policy, which was updated on August 19th, states that the district will continue requiring “masks at its indoor facilities through October 22, 2021, as well as maintaining a minimum of three feet social distancing, as recommended by the Ohio Department of Health.”
In the guidelines released by the Superintendent, the policy regarding masks in all indoor facilities reflects and “takes into consideration, local, state and federal guidelines and are subject to change.”
After one hour of debate, the school board wanted to go on to another issue, but some parents made it clear they are willing to take legal action if their children are forced to wear facial coverings during school hours.
There are reports of toxic mold, fungi, and bacteria that can pose a significant threat to the immune system by potentially weakening it. Of particular concern is a report of breathing in synthetic fibers in the face masks. In addition, there is the possibility of not only entry of foreign material to the airways, but also entry to deep lung tissue, and potential pathological consequences of foreign bodies in the lungs.”
U. S. Senate candidate Josh Mandel also attended the meeting and told the school board, “I think these masks are a form of child abuse.”
The lively crowd applauded their approval.

COLUMBUS — As of late, the rule of thumb for federal bureaucracy has been to bend the law. Unfortunately, the Biden Administration demonstrates it has no shame using children as pawns to indoctrinate its political beliefs. In response, a group of Attorney Generals across the nation are taking to task several administrative agencies and reminding them they do not have the authority to change laws.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has joined nineteen other State Attorneys Generals in suing the federal government for threatening to remove schools’ federal funds if they protect the privacy and safety of girls, and if schools do not force students to use “preferred pronouns.” The complaint challenges recent administrative actions by the Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) that rewrite two laws governing discrimination on the basis of sex.
“Rule by administrative overreach may seem convenient, but tossing the process our Constitution requires will inevitably trample the liberties of our most vulnerable,” Attorney General Yost said. “I will always defend the rights of our citizens to be a part of the legislative process and work to stop the abuses of a recalcitrant administrative state determined to bypass them.”
The lawsuit first challenges an interpretation by the Department of Education that attempts to require schools nationwide to implement federal policies regarding sexual orientation and gender identity. Nowhere does the Constitution provide authority for the federal government to run the nation’s schools and their athletic programs.
“The Biden administration continues to abuse executive authority to enforce a dangerous and radical ideology on children. The President knows this kind of attack on the privacy and safety of girls could never pass Congress, so he’s taken matters into his own hands by issuing a sweeping order that will harm countless children,” said Center for Christian Virtue (CCV) President Aaron Baer.
Without warning the Department of Education in June changed the conditions and decided that Title IX, in addition to discrimination on the basis of sex, applies to nondiscrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. This profound change was not accomplished through a law change by Congress, or even through an administrative process, but only through a unilateral interpretation.
“CCV and families across Ohio are grateful to have a leader like Attorney General Yost willing to say, ‘Enough is enough,’ and to fight for our children and the Constitution in court. Attorney General Dave Yost has consistently stood up for the rule of law and for families. “
Secondly, the lawsuit challenges a recent interpretation of a Supreme Court ruling by which the EEOC asserts a power that it does not have to redefine law.
In Bostock v. Clayton County, the Supreme Court ruled that, under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of1964, employers may not fire employees based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. Although the EEOC cannot issue rules and regulations under Title VII, the commission interpretation attempts to expand the Bostock ruling to mandate employers adopt practices regarding pronouns, access to shared bathrooms, uniforms, and other matters, issues that the Bostock decision did not address.
The state of Tennessee is leading the legal effort by the states, and is joined, besides Ohio, by Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and South Dakota.
Yost continues to represent mainstream Ohioans. The faith community in North Central Ohio has repeatedly spoken out on the restroom privacy issue supporting biological gender interpretation. A bill to add sexual orientation and gender identity to protected classes in the state has failed multiple times, and has not made it past committee hearings.
Local school officials and parents will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of the legal process as the Federal government continues to deny biology.

NORTH CENTRAL OHIO – An Ohio Navy hospital corpsman was among the thirteen Americans killed in the suicide bombing Thursday near Kabul’s International Airport. The twenty-two year old Maxton Soviak of Berlin Heights had hopes of making the Navy a career, but his life was tragically cut short. Several Ohio clergy believe his life and others could have been saved if there was capable leadership in Washington D.C.
Just one year ago, America led the way in world diplomacy in the Middle East with the Abraham Accords. But now the “peace thru strength approach” has morphed into the Biden Administration’s “war thru weakness” policy. One Mansfield Pastor who served in the Marines with combat deployment in Iraq believes Washington D.C. is working against its citizens and specifically, the military.
“My heart breaks for that naval corpsman who died along with the other brave Marines defending our country,” says Pastor Chad Hayes. “Politicians in Washington D.C. have handcuffed our military. The Biden Administration mistakenly deemed the war over by announcing the withdrawal of the troops, but no war is over until the enemy says it is over.”
“The decision (by Biden) to leave the military equipment to the Taliban was an epic failure. I am disgusted that Jihadists are now using weapons paid for by American taxpayer dollars to kill our sons and daughters. There are even pictures of them (Taliban) wearing U.S. uniforms. What a disgrace to anyone who has served in the military and worn the uniform.”
The safety of stranded American citizens and Afghan allies are left in jeopardy as the U.S. State Department confirmed their contact information was recently given to the Taliban.
Bucyrus Pastor J.C. Church lamented “The U.S. Armed Forces term ‘No man left behind,’ is now just a token statement carrying no meaning.”
As U.S. forces were under strict orders last week not to leave the Kabul airport, English, French, and German forces were seen sending special forces to rescue their citizens outside the airport.
“Our sympathy goes out to the Soviak family and those who have experienced loss from the terrorist attack, including American citizens and Afghan allies intentionally left stranded by the U.S. Government. This is a sobering moment for our country.”
“Elections have consequences,” admits Pastor Church. “The citizens in our Country have to get beyond personalities and look at job performance and love of country as deciding factors when they choose their leaders.”
According to Pastor Church, “The incompetence of Joe Biden and his staff has created a vacuum bringing instability to a region where the torture of women and children will become commonplace and religious freedom will be extinguished. This tragedy illustrates the point that when you fail to plan, you plan to fail. I hope this is a wake up call for the people of this Country.”

Philippians Chapter 3 says “But we are citizens of Heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior. He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like His own, using the same power with which He will bring everything under His control.”
CINCINNATI — This past summer national media outlets reported on a video from a San Francisco gay men’s choir singing “We are coming for your children.” While the choir downplayed the song, there is no joking about a political force that sings from a songbook supporting the indoctrination of young children by promoting puberty blockers and drag queen shows. Although the transgender message preaches to society about tolerance, the movement in reality condemns those singing a different tune.
Recently Center for Christian Virtue (CCV) Policy Director David Mahan was invited to preach at all three services at Crossroads Church near Cincinnati. After the church services, some activists inside the congregation condemned the mega church for hosting its guest speaker.
Apparently they were surprised a Biblical message on the subject would be given from the pulpit.
During his presentations, Mahan cited data from a study attributed to the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. Studies show effects of puberty blockers can last a lifetime. Following the church services, activists held a protest outside the church.
In the wake of the backlash, Crossroads Church released this statement, apologizing for causing harm to people. They also removed any mention of CCV, Mahan, or his message from their website and social media.
One of those in attendance was CCV President Aaron Baer.
“I was blessed to attend all three services, and was deeply moved by the response of the congregation,” says Baer. “There were standing ovations during David’s message and during his conversation with Senior Pastor Brian Tome for each of the services.
Baer continued, “As David has witnessed after working in the public schools for the past twenty years, children in all schools are having dangerous transgender ideology forced on them.”
According to Baer, there are at least five “gender clinics” pushing cross-sex hormones and puberty-blocking drugs on children in Ohio. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital attested under oath that for 100% of the children that enter their clinic, they recommend cross-sex hormone therapy. These treatments have not been approved by the FDA, and cause permanent bodily damage.
While LGBT proponents are effective in knowing what political buttons to push to control public discourse, they avoid talking points involving morality and biology. This past June, the Biden Administration ordered the flying of the LGBT flag at embassies across the world. Ironically, Crossroads Church in its apology letter listed CCV as the political organization.
“In their statement, Crossroads refers to CCV as a ‘political organization.’ However, CCV is not a political organization, we are a 501(C)(3) non-profit that does not endorse or oppose political candidates for office,” Baer explained. “We advocate and educate the public on issues, taking our positions from GOD’s eternal word.”
The CCV President believes that churches should not avoid talking about controversial issues like transgenderism, especially if done from the Biblical perspective.
“Pray for the LGBT advocates who are angered by CCV’s message and mission. Pray the Lord uses this controversy to continue to expose the harm gender clinics are causing to children and families.”

CINCINNATI — If an Ohio Archbishop had his way, he would have shown CNN the door and cancelled a publicized Presidential Townhall hosted at a Catholic institution. While the event did not get the attention of many, the response by the religious leader did.
“Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr has not been contacted by any involved party about the upcoming visit of President Joseph R. Biden to Cincinnati to participate in a CNN town hall meeting at Mount St. Joseph University,” the official statement said. “Archbishop Schnurr has therefore not been asked for, nor would he have granted, his approval for any such event to occur on Catholic premises. Mount St. Joseph University operates under the sponsorship of the Sisters of Charity and not under the direct oversight of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.”
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati is the 44th largest Catholic diocese in the country, with more than 440,000 Catholics, and has the fifth-largest Catholic school system in terms of enrollment with more than forty thousand students. The nineteen-county territory includes 211 parishes and 111 Catholic primary and secondary schools.
Last month U.S. Catholic bishops overwhelmingly approved the drafting of a “teaching document” that will rebuke President Joe Biden and other pro-abortion politicians for receiving Communion despite their support for the practice.
In response to the teaching document, a sitting Congressman Jared Huffman (D-CA) suggested repealing the tax-exempt status of the Catholic Church because it is upholding biblical truth.
After getting a record 81 million votes in the disputed 2020 Presidential Election, Joe Biden’s television ratings for the sparsely-attended CNN town hall finished last among cable news channels. Last month Donald Trump held an outdoor “Save America” rally in Wellington, Ohio with an estimated twenty-thousand in attendance.
During the townhall, Joe Biden said, “I don’t care if you think I’m Satan reincarnated. The fact is, you can’t look at that television and say nothing happened on (January) 6th.”

Second John says, “Whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them.”
Twenty-one years ago, a Governor from the Midwest found himself in a tight spot. He had chosen to display the motto from his state on the grounds of the restored Statehouse. Only problem was the ACLU really hated that motto because it flowed from the Book of Matthew. Ohio had been without a state motto for a number of years when in 1959 a twelve-year-old boy started a petition campaign for a new motto, “With GOD all things are possible.” The idea caught on and the State Legislature adopted the new motto.
In 2000, the ACLU decided the time was up on that motto. So they sued in Federal Court to have that “religious expression” declared unconstitutional. They won their case in Federal District Court and won their first appeal before a three-judge panel in the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court. The Governor and Attorney General had a decision to make. Should they appeal again to the full panel of the U.S. Circuit Court and perhaps appeal all the way to the Supreme Court, or should they accept the “inevitable” reality that the ACLU had won the day?
We had a decision to make as well. Should we rally the nation in support of the Ohio motto and take on the ACLU and the secular media? Could an honest historic and constitutional debate be won in public and in the courts for this matter of free speech and religious liberty?
We began the battle in defense of GOD-given rights and the U.S. Constitution. We produced radio programs in support of the motto. We released a brief documentary titled “Remember the Motto.” We distributed thousands of bumper stickers that said the same. By April, polling data revealed that 62% of Ohioans were aware of the litigation and 88% of people who knew of the case were in full support of the motto.
By December of 2000, Attorney General Betty Montgomery acknowledged that over fifteen-thousand people representing thousands more had directly contacted her urging full support for the defense of the state motto. Even the U.S. Congress weighed in, passing a bipartisan joint resolution defending the Ohio motto by an overwhelming 333-27 majority. Shortly thereafter, the ACLU suffered a crushing defeat as the full bench of the Sixth Circuit Court overturned the lower court decision and declared the motto constitutional by a 9-4 majority vote.
We did not have much in our hand when that battle began. We gave GOD what we had and then just started walking out the task focusing on the reality that “With GOD all things are possible.”
We had a decision to make as well. Should we rally the nation in support of the Ohio motto and take on the ACLU and the secular media? Could an honest historic and constitutional debate be won in public and in the courts for this matter of free speech and religious liberty?
Today the attacks upon the very fabric of this nation are all around us. In a recent one-hundred page document a Task Force commissioned by the National Archives concluded that America must “reimagine the Rotunda” where the original documents of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution are on display. Giving full credit to the discredited “1619 Project,” the Task Force became an echo chamber of the crusade for Critical Race Theory. They expressed serious concerns over people being traumatized by viewing the Declaration, the Constitution , and the historic paintings of the National Archives.
For over forty-years we have studied America’s founding documents and the principles upon which they stand. We seek to articulate and defend those principles every single day across the nation on The Public Square, at the Statehouse, the schoolhouse, and in the courts. Today America is facing the massive tidal wave driving Critical Race Theory and the godless equation into nearly every classroom and media outlet in the land.
We all see it. The ocean of media power driving the deconstruction of America seems overwhelming. The rising waves of reconstructed socialism are everywhere. That ocean is so big, and our boat looks pretty small. Any oddsmaker would declare the assignment of defending the first principles of American Liberty to be a mission impossible.
But we have heard all that before. We still remember the motto: “With GOD all things are possible.”

CINCINNATI — This year crowds are flooding back to the massive life-sized display of Noah’s Ark. Attendance at Ark Encounter has rebounded from last year’s pandemic and has equaled 2019’s record year.
“Our post pandemic numbers are better than our pre pandemic tours, and that is without our bus tours,” says Ken Ham, President of Answers in Genesis (AIG).
Celebrating its five-year anniversary this past summer, the Ark Encounter announced it will add a Tower of Babel exhibit and begin fundraising next year. The new exhibit will help people understand what genetics research and the Bible say about the origins of the people groups of the world and tackle the racism issue.
“The Tower of Babel was an event in the Bible after the Flood where man rebelled against GOD and GOD divided the people and gave different languages and people spread across the Earth forming different cultural and ethnic groups,” says Mr. Ham.
Ham hopes to demonstrate to people that all the different people groups came from a a common ancestry.
“Even in a secular scientific literature, they have been saying for years that there is only one race and the differences on the outside are minor and the major differences are cultural and the Bible’s history explains those cultural differences.
Ham hopes to bridge those differences with the Tower of Babel exhibit.
“The real person is on the inside and we need to be teaching people that. We want them to understand, we are all one family, we are all one family.”
Answers in Genesis owns the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter and employs seven hundred full-time staff and six hundred seasonal staff. Ham says that his research shows that over ninety-two percent of those who visit the two attractions are coming from outside Kentucky. Ultimately, the attractions have added millions of dollars to the state’s treasury, local schools and libraries.
“A man who manages ten hotel properties in the region recently thank us for being great partners and driving immense amounts of tourism to the Northern Kentucky region. The head of tourism agency of North Kentucky reported an incredible number of visitors coming to the Ark and Creation Museum and that hotel occupancy in the region is reflecting that,” says Ham.
In May 2021,nearby Florence, Kentucky hotels had a seventy-seven percent occupancy compared to the national average of fifty-nine percent.
