CAMBRIDGE — Ohio’s only outdoor passion play drama is putting the finishing touches on the last month of the season with weekend shows taking place thru September 28th.

For forty-five years and counting, Living Word Outdoor Drama, located at 6010 College Hill Road in Guernsey County has been telling the story of Christ in two and a half hour long live performances on Friday and Saturday evenings thru the summer.

“We treat our guests like family,” says Executive Director Heath Dawson.

“People’s jaws drop when they see our four-hundred foot set of the Old Jerusalem for the first time. The permanent set allows for a panoramic view and was repainted this year.”

The nationally recognized drama was founded in 1975 by Biblical Dramatist Frank Roughton Harvey and brings to life the passion of Jesus. Harvey studied Biblical archaeology under eminent scholars from the Holy Land.

Dawson comments, “We have seen our biggest growth over the last five years in regards to the amenities we provide. Our outdoor amphitheater was recently upgraded with stadium seating for 450 which also includes reserved handicapped-accessible seating. Last year we added state of the art LED lighting for both the stage and parking areas.”
